Teaching is one of my primary passions. I am happy that I have found myself in life!
My teaching objectives are impressive results and satisfaction of my students. I have extensive and various teaching experience (and life experience in British culture) that helps me make my lessons intensive, enjoyable and memorable. I believe that successful English language acquisition includes learning the language and understanding different cultural values and worldview. Equivalent patterns of thinking and dissecting the socio-cultural realia might not always exist in the Mother tongue.
I have 18 years’ teaching experience in various EFL specialisms (ESOL & UK Citizenship, Business English, Academic English, IELTS, Teaching Young Learners, General English, Preparation for studying at school or university in the UK). I have taught in different educational settings and also had managerial roles within the education, including Academic Director in an online EFL school, Academic Manager in a summer school and ESOL Coordinator in a large government-funded educational institution in the South of England.
As a PhD candidate, I am currently investigating the phenomenon of non-equivalence of certain cultural concepts between Russian and English and ways to overcome it. You can find further information regarding my research on "My PhD research" page.
